They were posted on Facebook, I linked to them in my previous post and they are up on my etsy page! But they are SO SWEET that I felt compelled to put them up one more time! And I am really proud of the following things: 1. Baby O is the newest addition to the Allen family (O is the third of three BOYS!) The Allens have become such great friends or ours, and it has been fun seeing this little blessing going from inside his mama into the real world! 2. These photos themselves!! My (also new and great) friend Katie is a stay at home mom who has her own photography business; I'd say she's doin pretty well! It's neat to know people in one capacity and then be totally blown away by their talent in another facet of their life! Please visit Katie's site <a href="katielittlephotography.com">katielittlephotography.com</a>. (Side note: These photos are up on Katie's site also and if she gets 30 comments then the Allen's get a free 8x10 and a free 5x7! So leave your thoughts people! Another side note: Katie's daughter Lorelai and my Harper have the same birthday, totally irrelevant to this post and to your lives, but fun anyways!) 3. I heart this bear hat and diaper cover big time! It was cute just sitting in my living room, but seeing it on baby O just made me so proud! If you would like one please visit my esty shop <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/NewMillie">here</a> (you gotta love a little blatant self promotion!) Also, this hat can be made in any size and any color, so don't think you have to have a newborn to rock this cute thing!</div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxm9krXkSxzVJazCescuJPPC9ZkSI15bgO4A9pzZOMHAbvnco-yrzhJ2ydsuqb2VwWu7gFF3rnrqHHasSJDGaFaRkj4FZ3DYe9ttBhEbd7ry7nYtM0NpEAwjoQZxakVwyuND0Uz_GYUY-S/s1600/IMG_7489EC+20x16+artsy+no+vign+LOGO.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 256px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxm9krXkSxzVJazCescuJPPC9ZkSI15bgO4A9pzZOMHAbvnco-yrzhJ2ydsuqb2VwWu7gFF3rnrqHHasSJDGaFaRkj4FZ3DYe9ttBhEbd7ry7nYtM0NpEAwjoQZxakVwyuND0Uz_GYUY-S/s320/IMG_7489EC+20x16+artsy+no+vign+LOGO.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519337787536063442" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9LkMk3fqS9L3X9Md75fkrLec4gONYUL7_h_WHDey3aNoRA8cMtJeFpGk5DE2JTzhUgW97BwdigTx-IFWZdKFch1YTxvHvBfneN1O-SP2uUefEfA3VZR0eZ2r6gJy8oauSRpphojO5__y-/s1600/IMG_7459EC+LOGO.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 235px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9LkMk3fqS9L3X9Md75fkrLec4gONYUL7_h_WHDey3aNoRA8cMtJeFpGk5DE2JTzhUgW97BwdigTx-IFWZdKFch1YTxvHvBfneN1O-SP2uUefEfA3VZR0eZ2r6gJy8oauSRpphojO5__y-/s320/IMG_7459EC+LOGO.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519337777356920466" /></a>Love.Stephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06504487920065457378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3514877673827740140.post-80706992448854970572010-09-15T15:14:00.003-05:002010-09-16T10:06:06.747-05:00Modeling. Bleh!Harper HATES modeling for me! I literally bribe her with baked goods, or ice cream or TV in order for her to leave something on or stay still. Today I managed to only get two semi-decent photos from her. And by decent I mean they are not blurry or of her ripping the hat off her head. This is a new style of hat I made for <a href="http://www.blogger.com/elliesenchantedcloset.com/">Ellie's Enchanted Closet</a> and the craft show I am doing in October. The boy version of this (which of course I didn't get photos of before I took it to the store) was Navy, lime green and white and was AWESOME! (If I do say so myself!) Love an earflap hat! Thank you to Kristi of <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/RAKJpatterns?ga_search_query=rakj&ga_search_type=seller_usernames">RAKJpatterns</a> for the inspiration and the patterns! (If you crochet and are in need of beautiful and easy to follow patterns click on the link above and visit RAKJpatterns' shop on Etsy! I am horrible about making things and then NOT taking pictures of them. Jeff is constantly yelling at me, "It's so easy to take and post pictures!" (He is by far my biggest fan, and thinks I am super talented and is always telling me "not to hide my light," and a bunch of other cute stuff like that!) Well, this is true, it is easy, I just don't do it as often as I should, which is funny because that is kind of what a blog is all about...hmm? Anyway, I thought I would show you some things I have made. I would like to say I have made these things lately, but that is not true, I have had these pictures for awhile, and now I have a whole new slough of stuff I need to photograph and post! Enjoy!</div><div><br /></div><div>Just a sweet little girl hat...LOVE a big flower on a little head! </div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibbpQXRwIf-l7emyugrGeZRaHkL5jQMbp28Wi3PZAHBW9gP93cErK6b2jCVRPW69nMscbweBojCENkpfH1RwvbqF5e3lMCV2Qe8yvLmPNJ9ZwFF9lQJJqA3gxyhQwF8ncNnibfzkd45olW/s1600/DSCF1377.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibbpQXRwIf-l7emyugrGeZRaHkL5jQMbp28Wi3PZAHBW9gP93cErK6b2jCVRPW69nMscbweBojCENkpfH1RwvbqF5e3lMCV2Qe8yvLmPNJ9ZwFF9lQJJqA3gxyhQwF8ncNnibfzkd45olW/s320/DSCF1377.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515397721094953266" /></a>Little boy beanie made out of some leftover yarn I had. The next one I make I won't use the same color twice, but like I said "leftover." If you belong to Ravelry you can find the pattern <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mini-muffin-hat">here</a>. (Side note #1, I have made a girl version of this with a little pom pom on top, super cute. You can (maybe) see it on little Micaiah Lee <a href="http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=42168268&id=14211649&ref=fbx_album">here</a>. Side note #2, If you crochet/knit and you don't belong to Ravelry, you need to join!)<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaI2tzRPWZhpMpm18RiCCvXjBdltFrwyg_w3LKWUEOgsqlrq12Qzbs5D0WC9X629oRIbK9k7XiaPayuk0KRIe237X4kXAmlcdJ5Le_KBJC9-A6VrQo4VZ6aJWu05hjh9jUTCVUwJN4NOi0/s1600/DSCF1374.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaI2tzRPWZhpMpm18RiCCvXjBdltFrwyg_w3LKWUEOgsqlrq12Qzbs5D0WC9X629oRIbK9k7XiaPayuk0KRIe237X4kXAmlcdJ5Le_KBJC9-A6VrQo4VZ6aJWu05hjh9jUTCVUwJN4NOi0/s320/DSCF1374.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515397711159257618" /></a>I am IN LOVE with this hat! And how cute would it be with a big flower on it for a girl? The tassels are super long and the yarn is thick and cuddley. And while this pic doesn't do it justice, you can go <a href="http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=14429963&fbid=10150262349285416&id=813500415">here</a> and see sweet little Owen wearing this hat and the matching diaper cover I made. But be careful, you may die of cuteness; proceed with caution. (This hat is also on sale at my etsy store, and the diaper cover is soon to come. It makes a great baby shower gift or a great prop for your favorite photographer!)<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSpVj-K-ibZ9WWaggqk2vKZbgJZgFm43Qr-me7vFyD8m84p4s1TaTp3KLHDxZz8z8CZEx-1iqGNZfCTApkcXJGjEuvhOHSDOSTS_2zIgyzyHad4bX_CdhtYYEqTC1uoUfPMq9Be94Nl9s8/s1600/DSCF1367.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSpVj-K-ibZ9WWaggqk2vKZbgJZgFm43Qr-me7vFyD8m84p4s1TaTp3KLHDxZz8z8CZEx-1iqGNZfCTApkcXJGjEuvhOHSDOSTS_2zIgyzyHad4bX_CdhtYYEqTC1uoUfPMq9Be94Nl9s8/s320/DSCF1367.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515397702949721522" /></a>This is the same as the Harper Flower that I posted about<a href="http://newmillie.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html"> here</a>; I just changed the colors. Personally, I LOVE this one. This one in particular was made for Miss Mckinley Thai, the beautiful daughter of my life long friend Chelsea (we were in the same 3rd grade class, were in youth group together and were college roomates). Mck was born 10 days before my Luke, and even though they have never met (Chelsea and her husband live on the east coast) they will be married one day; we're bringing back the arranged marriage.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4QGDuQ7OCyAtvd_jXDK0NXh4mmIRotCsXt4iOTa_XDkQNM6R6yrBuGsj_8zTDcNNeo0qRGYZqZJ-NhOBYCi48aHCKsS1PKcpv2stYPaS6wYuaoplD0jU8aSKka8yo6rPAwE0TcXFBAZfz/s1600/DSCF1357.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4QGDuQ7OCyAtvd_jXDK0NXh4mmIRotCsXt4iOTa_XDkQNM6R6yrBuGsj_8zTDcNNeo0qRGYZqZJ-NhOBYCi48aHCKsS1PKcpv2stYPaS6wYuaoplD0jU8aSKka8yo6rPAwE0TcXFBAZfz/s320/DSCF1357.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515397690345187602" /></a>Stephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06504487920065457378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3514877673827740140.post-31291764096680690292010-07-09T16:14:00.009-05:002010-09-12T08:10:41.323-05:00Tutorial: Shiny Hieny Wipes Case<div>So, first let me say that I have apparently been living in a closet (or I just have two kids under 3), but these wipes cases are EVERYWHERE! All over etsy.com and in all sorts of boutiques. I was first given one by my great friend Kim, and at that time had never seen one before (like I said, two kids under 3). I was later asked to make a gift for a baby shower and decided to try one out myself. Surprisingly easy and really fun, these little cases not only can make a great gift, but if you have to carry a wipes case in your purse or diaper bag why not have it be fabulous?! So here's a little tutorial for you!</div><div><br /></div><div>List of supplies:</div><div>Travel Wipe Case (Use the same basic steps for a large wipe case, you will just nee more fabric)</div><div>Base Fabric- less than 1/4 of a yard will be used (but due to all the cutting and gluing you should start with at least 1/4 yard.)</div><div>Fleece- or any other type of batting you would like (it all depends how "fluffy" you want it.)</div><div>Hot glue gun</div><div>Mod Podge and sponge- you could also use photo spray glue, but that gets MESSY</div><div>Ribbon</div><div>Scissors</div><div>Optional:</div><div>Any other embellishment</div><div>Coordinating Fabric</div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqMnS8Brinjv9yj1d2q6Dq_9FsUmdqOn5WVd8EHq_9lOhYW9VAIq_UU8-GupgoBoif558GJI-6UcrEC9GKbWdOHBe2WFCoBpxIH7n9RE7r9v7EH2PUi3wo4NTLalWl4QiF3PFz_tEDT_7Y/s1600/DSCF1318.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqMnS8Brinjv9yj1d2q6Dq_9FsUmdqOn5WVd8EHq_9lOhYW9VAIq_UU8-GupgoBoif558GJI-6UcrEC9GKbWdOHBe2WFCoBpxIH7n9RE7r9v7EH2PUi3wo4NTLalWl4QiF3PFz_tEDT_7Y/s320/DSCF1318.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5492021730148986450" /></a>1. Apply fabric. Now, you can do steps 1-4 then cut one side, then repeat steps 1-4 on the other side, then cut that side or just wait and cut both sides at the same time. (Do you like how confusing I made that?) Basically if your fabric isn't so big that it's getting in your way while you work on the second side, just wait to cut it...it's easier. Also, you are going to cover all the raw edges with ribbon, so don't worry about cutting perfectly! (I love this kind of crafting)<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoAAMizJriloTTvdBujrMxw0iqpiCW3nOAZnrqXquheB36Ut-vrT6TDJddb_Enmxg02iXIFbN_wm9-lvzZiRi9nF7vukZdZT1wwKC0P-n8o9Xrw46XyPezEUwmze2RX_JmARmRXjfiqzJa/s1600/DSCF1326.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoAAMizJriloTTvdBujrMxw0iqpiCW3nOAZnrqXquheB36Ut-vrT6TDJddb_Enmxg02iXIFbN_wm9-lvzZiRi9nF7vukZdZT1wwKC0P-n8o9Xrw46XyPezEUwmze2RX_JmARmRXjfiqzJa/s320/DSCF1326.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5492020508412137810" /></a>6. Now, if you don't have a coordinating fabric, just skip this step. Cute. Presents.<div>So I like to make stuff. I love to find new patterns, create my own projects and just dream of all the things I would like to sew, crochet, mod podge, cut, hang, embellish (you get where I'm going with this?) Anyway, the problem is that usually, I find so many things I want to do that the "looking" and "thinking" takes up the time of the "doing." Well with a couple birthdays coming up (two being today; Happy Birthday Kerri and Claire) I had a great excuse to make some stuff.</div><div><br /></div><div>I have a braided fabric headband that I love, and as I was reading through a few blogs that I like and I found <a href="http://racheldenbow.blogspot.com/2009/11/braided-headband-tutorial.html">this tutorial</a> to make my own. Super easy. Super fast. The only advice would be to cut your fabric strips bigger than you may think. The first time I made it (yeah, I know I said it was super easy, I just like to make life harder) I cut my strips too small and my braids were tiny and just weren't the look I was going for. So the next time, I cut my fabric a few inches wide and it turned out a lot better (this is one of two that I am sending to my sister's- in- law; they have the same birthday.)</div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHcB7ZGXvXp-CDeJUGYFoPPCsFhGcA0F4QgpEXSF5jvBG5tvUQF8Kf7VW7LKh0_yGdRFUD1KKueoKB7tiLjmq_VAtoHpsbSaPLKakOwE0AlXfNd8CC-RV-yS7ky-wGZ-jrNmD2_WSXA7j2/s1600/DSCF1347.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHcB7ZGXvXp-CDeJUGYFoPPCsFhGcA0F4QgpEXSF5jvBG5tvUQF8Kf7VW7LKh0_yGdRFUD1KKueoKB7tiLjmq_VAtoHpsbSaPLKakOwE0AlXfNd8CC-RV-yS7ky-wGZ-jrNmD2_WSXA7j2/s320/DSCF1347.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5491338527840796722" /></a><br />I had been looking for a good kid pattern for a brimmed hat (I already have an adult) and I found one <a href="http://vallieskids.blogspot.com/2009/06/meagan-wants-you.html">here</a>. But this pattern was made for a 7-8 year old, and I needed it to fit a (soon to be) 1 year old, so I simply used a G hook instead of a J. I tried it on Luke (who is also 1) and it's a little big, but he kinda has a peanut head, so...<div><br /></div><div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrkxvM_14pi-u9JA1lvtxeVIXhahhfh9TGMqd9ZNw_QYCn0ixlibqCMoWxMp1WHJau8RH6qSMigW24oFj35xZZReZhM_8apENTsrtN7UESHzzwoUTjM6X_UTJDo-3c6YMAl-xdVYig0Yy1/s1600/DSCF1346.JPG"></a><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrkxvM_14pi-u9JA1lvtxeVIXhahhfh9TGMqd9ZNw_QYCn0ixlibqCMoWxMp1WHJau8RH6qSMigW24oFj35xZZReZhM_8apENTsrtN7UESHzzwoUTjM6X_UTJDo-3c6YMAl-xdVYig0Yy1/s1600/DSCF1346.JPG" style="text-decoration: none;"><img style="text-align: left;display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px; " src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrkxvM_14pi-u9JA1lvtxeVIXhahhfh9TGMqd9ZNw_QYCn0ixlibqCMoWxMp1WHJau8RH6qSMigW24oFj35xZZReZhM_8apENTsrtN7UESHzzwoUTjM6X_UTJDo-3c6YMAl-xdVYig0Yy1/s320/DSCF1346.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5491338516255941010" /></a><br />The hat is for a our good friend Hudson (he's Luke's BFF), Hudson's dad, Nick, is doing an Army Residency in DC (which means Jeff and I are far away from <i>OUR</i> friends...single tear!), so I cut out his last name in camo letters and then glued (and stitched the corners) down. And by model, I mean follow her around and beg her to be still for 2 seconds while I snap a photo. But here they are...</div><div><br /></div><div>This flower pattern I found <a href="http://skamama.blogspot.com/2006/06/skamamamum.html">here</a> and the headband I just made up, it was super easy, maybe I'll post it another time.</div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHjGuihj2fJMGNHjbJ6xYWdFoY_Ne7swpHqA_nGsEE4OgtJJyrswNXQsSiFKa5bphSenqxyWSJKgiK_4Ccy64cflr16SZ27tFtwnKcw-KqfytTJ4Li0auVGYlMBmgZLPC9qjI9_3265cnu/s1600/DSCF1287.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHjGuihj2fJMGNHjbJ6xYWdFoY_Ne7swpHqA_nGsEE4OgtJJyrswNXQsSiFKa5bphSenqxyWSJKgiK_4Ccy64cflr16SZ27tFtwnKcw-KqfytTJ4Li0auVGYlMBmgZLPC9qjI9_3265cnu/s320/DSCF1287.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485416671533204130" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhol0QNu5xgEQWRn-rdcmWiPZSq31ihHaVI9ZW2Km2kEgfT0zyvh33ibYQQIrR8XzOlMBgGZjXkF5u_of68g2bQjwvZA0X6LoDB_XeKB2VompcXOWc3RiYigU0iAdQ-vjvksdxZ7ABm5Lfg/s1600/DSCF1282.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhol0QNu5xgEQWRn-rdcmWiPZSq31ihHaVI9ZW2Km2kEgfT0zyvh33ibYQQIrR8XzOlMBgGZjXkF5u_of68g2bQjwvZA0X6LoDB_XeKB2VompcXOWc3RiYigU0iAdQ-vjvksdxZ7ABm5Lfg/s320/DSCF1282.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485416662043812066" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzZRmw8x4x30eMBW8o8SQ4MoGYfBnoRcgv2BrqVbrdbADZaCd3AElek08NfYEGDJK4-6VKmqsq-yvgEe-dxGYzInupGx4_aTfcFhZEV-KW0hK5W4OlmG2mZjvnFCtvzSiBqQcyMFNObQYe/s1600/DSCF1280.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzZRmw8x4x30eMBW8o8SQ4MoGYfBnoRcgv2BrqVbrdbADZaCd3AElek08NfYEGDJK4-6VKmqsq-yvgEe-dxGYzInupGx4_aTfcFhZEV-KW0hK5W4OlmG2mZjvnFCtvzSiBqQcyMFNObQYe/s320/DSCF1280.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485416255477422802" /></a>For this bow headband I simply crocheted around an elastic headband, and then attached the bow (go <a href="http://creativeyarn.blogspot.com/search/label/my%20free%20patterns">here</a> for the pattern.) However, if you're choosing to stay then here we go.<div><br /></div><div>Materials needed:</div><div>A pair of women's (or men's) socks</div><div>Rotary cutters or scissors</div><div>Pins</div><div>Sewing machine</div><div><br /></div>Step 1. Lay out your socks (I got these beauties from Target for $2!)<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV5Qld0mS_9y5SLh4Duf5gRGnl9Wr95XFzFwE-biHrjX-JsOsdBLzhWIganr7v_2PM6-AholAPe2ZPwDQ5bnJOwpHiawgU2RfF5_PKgu3ji0ecPtetJnK-1DrvW7Ec4EVYKO-VaAZm097V/s320/DSCF1049.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454913929178286450" />Step 2. Make 3 cuts. You want to cut the toe off and the heel off.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGZ8AgM3_S_hp3YGb0uuWup79nc9F4PHgyxz_-FWqE_6Uq9NgOMLt60jtBUNBbk-mRG_7GZgr5rRoEL2GBy1k9wUq_Bnflk0vajG2wn7yQc9eR7HakxMomWs_BeWh457kZUNQUmOlfvN0G/s320/DSCF1050.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454913940412804626" />Step 3. You should now be left with two pieces. The main sock piece and the part of the foot that was neither the heel or the toe (see I told you just should've gone to <a href="http://samstermommy.blogspot.com/2009/10/diy-infanttoddler-legwarmers.html">samestermommy.blogspot.com</a>) You want to take the foot piece and fold it in half.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUcXEevckBHl_MiyXtdjetCautAyKKivTLC5fmqTDuwlEHeK_MdIdHBM7o_zXQuCIYuLDJU2b00KphPffmF2jA7Dpm-ZZuk7e00I0lgkZaUqecK3yJNbaLrIwgyCNPG7Hx_upsM7x-cnmH/s320/DSCF1051.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454915017198446290" />Step 4. Place the folded piece around the main sock and pin.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNBdrf0bVuAxcvckWxmOC9o_ytw_7KjnYHM-ntAJca71pkEb6TS8_VHjgiCyoaIr0otI01KRYrTsNS5ExVzN84KBqxxptHYgxw9iub2VW60ppzdXkJlk3XFmyyfVQoUpB9ncESkVr1yQI4/s320/DSCF1052.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454915029451653602" />Step 5. Sew. Be careful not to pull your fabric.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivf6cfaTErnxAx36MVkuhVH3Aw2j-r0ZCQI9biWTaq3AJK7cixfNAZrt5kdjvRJygDRRy8HTYX2uHZk4RVYXLglHvpIaVlssDynb1P3T8KW_0sWUmupVtBV9qOR3ta_QTWCvL_cmJsp_L9/s320/DSCF1053.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454915057445991842" />Ta-dah! Instead of letting her sister buy this headband/ear-warmer, my wonderful sister-in-law took a picture of it, sent it to me and asked if I could make it. Here is the finished product. Hopefully my wonderful sister-in-law's sister will like it! (By the way her name is Katie, I was just having fun writing "my wonderful sister-in-law's sister). PS- This is a super easy pattern I made up, that I might possibly post at another time, but I haven't showered for a day and half (two puking kids will do that to you) so I'm going to go ahead and do that now.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifset0JjPzoYdWwb6gN-xzXEQRh8oriZqt8u_pVD41Zd_8NR48HMvsKUnz2Gv7k9uG0h-DQoNwD8Xx3ktEcf1BUOLiJJMsur0wmYf2dP8x2CyUHiSms2DH_CFR5hNULHwrAhZTOn4j29iw/s1600/DSCF1046.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifset0JjPzoYdWwb6gN-xzXEQRh8oriZqt8u_pVD41Zd_8NR48HMvsKUnz2Gv7k9uG0h-DQoNwD8Xx3ktEcf1BUOLiJJMsur0wmYf2dP8x2CyUHiSms2DH_CFR5hNULHwrAhZTOn4j29iw/s320/DSCF1046.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454811260134379682" /></a>Stephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06504487920065457378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3514877673827740140.post-45799969480881772452010-03-15T19:33:00.007-05:002010-07-05T20:35:40.561-05:00No Nap Hair Bows<div style="text-align: left;">So it's pretty inevitable that on any given day one or the both of my children will either a.) Take forever to get themselves down for their nap, or b.) Refuse a nap altogether. Well today, Harper chose "b," and after 35 minutes of yelling, and out of fear that she would wake the big man; I threw in the towel and went and got her up. Usually I work out during my kids' nap, but that was going to have to be delayed (I will be doing that after this post is done. Yay.) So I decided we would make some hair bows. Harp got very excited and actually told me that was very "kind of" me...she's so cute...today. I made some actual bows, but the ones I like the best are actually a kind of "flower." They're super easy.</div><div><br /></div><div>Materials Needed:</div><div>-Ribbon</div><div>-hot glue gun</div><div>-button (or anything else to go in the center..beads maybe?)</div><div>-hair clip (head band, or brooch pin)</div><div><br /></div><div>Before we get started let me say that yes, I do most crafts on the floor of my living room, I spread everything out, and make a complete mess, I am not ashamed of this. Okay, now that's out of the way, here we go.</div><div><br /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuvlWBrUgOfxkUeWTDguLBP_oFfJpwKNdH0RPGB36feFf2JjsOq0gO2vcgOuTsshSYzE8xmq0eooro1z3YYjvQdJHYYE5pRmi7oxAJ0WzCnHLPa5ttCwj7ljmwbCV9I4pr08WljGhUspNN/s320/DSCF0971.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5449025982542767490" />Make a loop with the ribbon and secure it with a dot of hot glue<br /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC_6bTEPUiEpo-kJ9aoUBfiLgtGaNZAJF9zCfhyphenhyphen95EcAp1eDychNgkwq0a9K5UtQsUHSfgF_UpoPwmX_Cvn9qX9AIdJHSXO2HpRsbyvP1Pi2iJGhRv1ElzTtOlMkKFQteJciv_Gj0fgALE/s320/DSCF0972.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5449025993300821666" />Make another loop, secure it with another dot of hot glue and trim the end. I had claimed to have some things under control and to begin creating again, but I totally lied. My life is crazy, I have learned to accept it, and now I am hoping to continue sewing, crocheting and crafting despite of it. As I am writing this, my two year old, who is supposed to be taking a nap is yelling over and over and over again in her room. Just a typical day. (The picture above is a great example of what I dealing with over here.)Stephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06504487920065457378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3514877673827740140.post-34979892643293158012009-09-04T22:49:00.004-05:002009-09-04T22:59:25.069-05:00What I've Made Lately<div>After a very long hiatus from New Millie, I happy to say that I am back, and now a mother of TWO! But it all paid off this weekend at the Green With Indie craft show. I had a wonderful time, and met some great people! I was truly taken back by the amazing creativity of all the venders! I will post pictures soon, and elaborate on my first experience at a craft show, but for now: thanks to everyone who bought something, had kind things to say about my items, visited this site, and hung out all weekend! Remember: look for me on etsy.com very soon! And if you put in a request, don't worry, after a short night off, I will get started with your items on Monday!Stephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06504487920065457378noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3514877673827740140.post-28987600273547732972009-03-03T21:14:00.004-06:002010-07-05T20:37:18.272-05:00Hats in March?<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrmWCsT91aM4V9_fBbVhTt0AoA2l4rlxSClXnv-9-RH5y5SGAUNwpSadw7YWm-kE_t2xVRZ-897CaacnHj0GyeBwCkDXM04rADrpcV3MKoZhIZJ5iyG8yBuitSJRJc1i8zMkHPOOjTS25W/s1600-h/DSCF0226.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrmWCsT91aM4V9_fBbVhTt0AoA2l4rlxSClXnv-9-RH5y5SGAUNwpSadw7YWm-kE_t2xVRZ-897CaacnHj0GyeBwCkDXM04rADrpcV3MKoZhIZJ5iyG8yBuitSJRJc1i8zMkHPOOjTS25W/s320/DSCF0226.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309166494222150002" /></a>It does seem silly to make wool hats in March, but they are just so fun! I used two balls of mutli-colored wool yarn and was able to make three hats. I have spent years making up my own patterns, but using someone else's does really help you learn...try <a href="http://www.rheatheylia.com/index.php?page=patterns&id=0">this one</a>.Stephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06504487920065457378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3514877673827740140.post-42468739515631418832009-03-03T20:51:00.004-06:002010-07-05T20:37:45.953-05:00Fun Projects<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj76-gu7ptrXfFD29IR7zt9p_waKybaig4yRzVSQlRBi6G41sODYh_iFY6ft17anMQ9l3Zj5avwHSlf6UtNQSg6X50WimMkvk-bLKF4-G7hN4GaZTFxO0Q1FrM9fy79ahQbKV0E-5P_lvyT/s1600-h/DSCF0246.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj76-gu7ptrXfFD29IR7zt9p_waKybaig4yRzVSQlRBi6G41sODYh_iFY6ft17anMQ9l3Zj5avwHSlf6UtNQSg6X50WimMkvk-bLKF4-G7hN4GaZTFxO0Q1FrM9fy79ahQbKV0E-5P_lvyT/s320/DSCF0246.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309160501445087842" /></a>So like many that craft, I love Craftstylish.com. I get so many great ideas from them, including this one; taking a simple fleece blanket and crocheting around the edge, you can find the tutorial <a href="http://www.craftstylish.com/item/26040/how-to-edge-a-napkin-or-anything-else-with-crochet">here. </a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJTEZx8PSm7uaZODAto7ngsQTJWl0yJnBfft99QCEKJag4jDFhPiajSkNmGAnGwN3HztkgHZ2HuLoyuJTPLgBWaffcFeH4djyyrrDJmsXS9_GU_s3Hob5-fg9-nIpfPHscGAAhB5gQAQVb/s1600-h/DSCF0245.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJTEZx8PSm7uaZODAto7ngsQTJWl0yJnBfft99QCEKJag4jDFhPiajSkNmGAnGwN3HztkgHZ2HuLoyuJTPLgBWaffcFeH4djyyrrDJmsXS9_GU_s3Hob5-fg9-nIpfPHscGAAhB5gQAQVb/s320/DSCF0245.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309160493698875746" /></a>I am really having fun looking for ways to reuse and restyle items. I would have never thought to do this before, but it took a very plain blanket and gave it a new feel...or an old feel, doesn't it look like something your Grandma would have had? I do have other projects finished, I just haven't taken any photos yet. But here is the first of many bags I am making (all different) for the show. It has been really fun making up patterns and just letting things come together as I go. This bag I was calling the "Mama Bag" because it is pretty big. It is crocheted with 100% cotton cream yarn. It is lined in some of the fabric I bought at goodwill and the strap is crocheted fabric strips (in the lining fabric). I think it's pretty fun.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFTPni2GlaVJ972zV2zIXIKuKOtkFE5Oo83Dfg6gvZwJ3dZfm7Vjh75HnU_nK0HurJ0GXRsi6J9vjjdAo3V52x4pjNd_t4GwicQ154hk0gp-6TP1J53DQID51shJf33dU8JI7py_wIsW9S/s1600-h/DSCF0198.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFTPni2GlaVJ972zV2zIXIKuKOtkFE5Oo83Dfg6gvZwJ3dZfm7Vjh75HnU_nK0HurJ0GXRsi6J9vjjdAo3V52x4pjNd_t4GwicQ154hk0gp-6TP1J53DQID51shJf33dU8JI7py_wIsW9S/s320/DSCF0198.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304909819939774274" /></a>The lining with two pockets.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9NMq7HU_FMEYgnNLA1y8kH4PtdxxlGaj7erAGNOeqV2zwhSdJrMYYrmS5j02_bqMRdHRkrSubfSHXBqx1NKmutVLoxIxLA-_HMqAkh9KfKvUlRNZqsqHt9TXkC4n0o_bd6mX1OWnriQbY/s1600-h/DSCF0197.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9NMq7HU_FMEYgnNLA1y8kH4PtdxxlGaj7erAGNOeqV2zwhSdJrMYYrmS5j02_bqMRdHRkrSubfSHXBqx1NKmutVLoxIxLA-_HMqAkh9KfKvUlRNZqsqHt9TXkC4n0o_bd6mX1OWnriQbY/s320/DSCF0197.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304909813684934210" /></a>The crocheted fabric strap. I went to the store planning on getting something neutral, but fell in love with this Homespun yarn! It comes in all different colors and I am planning on making something with all of them. The scarflet is done and sitting on our kitchen table and every time I walk past it I can't help but say (out loud) "I love this yarn!" (Hey give me a break, the only person I have to talk to for most of the day is a 15 month old!) I will be one of the vendors at the <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">Green With Indie</span> craft show, which I am super excited about. The premise of the show is "green crafting," so I am planning to use only natural materials (organic cotton, wool) and then repurposing a lot of items (I already bought a very cool table cloth and bed sheet from Goodwill!) I have also been looking at everything in my house as a potential craft material...the creative juices are flowing! I decided I needed a new cell phone case; Harper had dropped mine while we were taking a walk in the park and by the time I realized it, I was watching a woman waiting for the bus picking it up and putting it her purse (she must have needed it, right?). Anyway, this led me to this little case. It was super easy, here's the patterns:<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbozD5KMHFMSThyOqTKvkP_B9jWloYWt9bLmnD6BW_NTTZ2CO7Pg11AhA44E_F9NBEuRlNEbaQNkTUSvAeM9YoBcoZem-_nquoxDcA_qgHcgo-NgqFOOoMzJMjjQ_obKP7zMLO1jv8lWId/s320/cellphonecase.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298245628956508754" />Materials: <div>6 mm crochet hook</div><div>Medium weight acrylic blend yarn (really anything will work)</div><div>sewing needle</div><div>button</div><div>fabric and sewing materials for lining (optional)<br /><div><br /></div><div>Chain your desired length, I have a LG Voyager from Verizon and I chained 18<div>row 1: sc in second chain from hook. Continue to sc in the rest of the chain, do not turn. Sc on the other side of the chain all the way down, do not join round.</div><div>Row 2+: Continue with this pattern (sc on both sides) until desired depth is obtained. (Once again, for my phone I sc 12 rounds).</div><div><br /></div><div>Button hook: On your last round SC until middle of second side, chain 9 or so (depends on thickness of phone) skip one SC and join chain to next SC, continue to SC to finish round. </div><div><br /></div><div>Button: Choose any type of button and sew to opposite side of button hook.</div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8LQiMnUSPjRIodNSS1A_K-yeBPtv1tCEiQaDhWhXMyqOejfNKsYoEW555JDRdVq3vBqFNpSwSvbBx1ii6d1yLactyMlZJuNWWYgH8yab_JKfUkNYKv-BeFy5tx8_PpebhdJASsAidFD8X/s1600-h/cellphonelining.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8LQiMnUSPjRIodNSS1A_K-yeBPtv1tCEiQaDhWhXMyqOejfNKsYoEW555JDRdVq3vBqFNpSwSvbBx1ii6d1yLactyMlZJuNWWYgH8yab_JKfUkNYKv-BeFy5tx8_PpebhdJASsAidFD8X/s320/cellphonelining.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298245631608562354" /></a><div>I decided to line mine, which I think is cute, but the cover would work great without the lining also.</div><div><br /></div><div>1. Multiple your depth by two and then add 1 inch (For example, if your depth is 5 then it will equal: 5 x 2=10+1=11 inches).</div><div><br /></div><div>3. Measure your fabric and cut. </div><div><br /></div><div>4. Fold fabric in half (pattern side in) length (depth) wise. Iron. Measure a 1/2 inch seam at the top of each side. Iron fabric out.</div><div><br /></div><div>5. Pin along sides of folded fabric and sew a 1/2 inch seam on each side. Iron side seams out.</div><div><br /></div><div>6. Sew the top 1/2 inch seam.</div><div><br /></div><div>7. Fit lining into case and hand sew in. Be sure to sew only on the inside stitch so it doesn't show through on the outside of the case.</div><div><br /></div><div>If you haven't sewn before these instructions are going to be very confusing! If you need pictures go to <a href="http://www.futuregirl.com/">Futuregirl</a> and check out her tutorials on "How to sew a lining" and how to "Sew a lining into a crocheted bag." Don't you wish I would have told you this before? </div><div><br /></div><div>GOOD LUCK!</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /><br /><br /></div></div></div></div>Stephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06504487920065457378noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3514877673827740140.post-79689267214549168952009-02-02T00:06:00.003-06:002010-07-05T20:39:53.397-05:00LeftoversWhat to do with the leftovers? If you crochet or knit then you know that eventually you will be left with a little bit of a lot of different yarn. Well I figured out something to do to not waste all those little bits; I took all my leftovers and cut them in various lengths an then tied them all together in a random order.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSt2Dr44pYciyGcG2Ql8pXmHqjMU3vOG5HelX-cNExGQLX02OAH4A7QnvAjxEuKe9hHFvUao745HZWdp8krmuz6KROcO9plungkH8ctePSPjEMP7LkgpIvvrVjpJryK_XeUeVw2km-v9QB/s320/leftoveryarn.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298078640370409682" />The result was this scarf/cowl. I know it's not everyones' taste, but I'm kind of into it!<br /><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO2TifQAwyMtuJLvPTjX0q-I-t0qk_FdTJ4FD0pPyJHzpljLA1dW-wMeUo-W2h9GKPVqhLuz4JZw1hAJlkzpX8cE4xstW8j8dWkhDhKAMv1GbX3qGIqeKSQb08C88WOU1DDYEy4eiYEOGy/s1600-h/leftoverscarf.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO2TifQAwyMtuJLvPTjX0q-I-t0qk_FdTJ4FD0pPyJHzpljLA1dW-wMeUo-W2h9GKPVqhLuz4JZw1hAJlkzpX8cE4xstW8j8dWkhDhKAMv1GbX3qGIqeKSQb08C88WOU1DDYEy4eiYEOGy/s320/leftoverscarf.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298078640930500674" /></a><div>It's also a super easy pattern!</div><div><br /></div><div>I used a 10mm hook and leftover yarn, but obviously you could use any yarn you like.</div><div><br /></div><div>Chain 120 (or to your desired length)</div><div>Row 1: Treble stitch in 4th chain from hook and in the rest of the chain.</div><div>Row 2: chain 3, turn, Treble stitch in back stitch only all the way down the row</div><div>Row 3: chain 3, turn, Treble in front stitch only down the row</div><div>Row 4+: Continue with pattern (Back stitch, front stitch) until desired width is obtained.</div><div><br /></div><div>Finishing: When rows are completed, single stitch around border, tie off and weave in ends...or not, who cares it's a leftover scarf! I also stitched the two ends together, and then twisted it up and around my neck.<br /><br /><br /><br /></div></div>Stephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06504487920065457378noreply@blogger.com0
